A rapid clicking sound when you turn the key (click-click-click-click) is almost always a flat or dead battery — the clicks are the starter motor solenoid firing without enough power to engage. A single heavy clunk can also indicate battery issues. In both cases, call us and we’ll come and get you started.

If jump leads from another vehicle haven’t worked, the battery may be too deeply discharged to accept a charge via a standard 12V source, or there may be a fault beyond the battery (alternator, starter motor). Our professional jump packs deliver more current than a standard car-to-car jump and can recover more deeply discharged batteries. If we can’t start it, we’ll advise on what the actual problem might be.

We can jump start the 12V auxiliary battery in most hybrid vehicles — which is what’s needed when a hybrid won’t start. We do not jump-start pure electric vehicle drive batteries (EV high-voltage packs). Call us with your vehicle make and model and we’ll confirm what we can do.

We don’t carry replacement batteries on our vehicles, but we can tell you exactly what battery your vehicle needs and recommend a local auto parts supplier in Traralgon or Morwell that can fit one while you wait. In some cases, we can tow you directly to a battery fitter.

Warning signs include slow or sluggish engine cranking (takes longer than usual to start), battery warning light on the dashboard, needing a jump start more than once in a short period, or a battery that’s more than 3–4 years old. If any of these apply, call us for a battery health check before you’re stranded.
